George thanked Dean for  "sending me songs when no one knew who I was"...referring to his recording sessions in Nashville for his first single "Unwound" and album "Strait Country", and he pointed out that he's included Dillon's songs in all his albums except one ("Pure Country" soundtrack)....he then sang 3 of his biggest hits..."The Chair", "Marina del Rey" and "Here for a Good Time"....
George and Dean were seated side-by-side at their table...and you can see from these photos they were having some fun!!!    Later, George was on stage for the award presentation....the longtime friends and songwriting pals shared a special moment.....

Award season in Nashville was a very eventful and rewarding one for George Strait...first, at the A.S.C.A.P. Awards, he was honored with the prestigious Founder's Award...then at the BMI Awards, King George was part of the tribute to Dean Dillon, when he received their "Icon" award for a lifetime of writing classic country songs...below are a few photos from each night....these awards were held on Nov. 4th and 5th....
